    I own this model and the 8.5-25x50 and love them, I also have 4 of the Mark 4 8.5-25x50 IRs. The VX3s are AWESOME scopes for the money.. yes the Mark 4s have slightly nicer glass but over all not really worth nearly 2x the cost of these. I have the 6.5-20 on a Custom .300rum and the 8.5-25 on a Lazzeroni .257 Scream jet (imho the best 1000 yard cal. Out there, shooting a 120vld at 3940FPS and holds true 1/2moa groups out to 800 yards and will stay sub moa out to about 1300 yards.) These scopes have dead on parallax markings on the side turrets and absolutely accurate 1/4 moa adjustmests they are dead on 1/4 moa that is a big deal and if the scopes are ever so slightly off on the adjustments it means little out to about 600 yards but past that is the adjustments are slightly more or less then the stated value it will wreck havoc on you sighting in correct adjustments and it becomes really a problem when you reach past 1000 yards. The glass is awesome and super bright and crisp at all mag settings.. I love these scopes in fact will be putting one on a Christian arms Carbon .338 lapua mag for a 2000 yard capable rifle. All in all yes the Mark 4 is a better scope but not nearly twice the cost better.
